As Theatre Royal Drury Lane presents a star-studded Much Ado About Nothing, The Lane is offering a Season of Love Afternoon Tea — complete with Shakespearean sonnets.

As Theatre Royal Drury Lane welcomes Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell to the stage to perform a Jamie Lloyd-interpretation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, The Lane is welcoming Shakespearean sonnets and silky sponge cakes with an afternoon tea that is Much Ado about Love rather than nothing.

Step into the opulent Grand Saloon for the Season of Love Afternoon Tea, a seasonal indulgence at The Lane, crafted by baking genius Lilli Vanilli. Among the sweet delights, you'll find a vanilla cake bursting with passionfruit and delicate buttercream, topped with a handmade chocolate cupid, dipped in gold and ready for love—complete with edible love hearts. And what’s a treat without a drink? Sip on a glass of fizzing Taittinger Prestige Rosé, adding a spark of luxury to the experience.

But that’s not all - Taittinger is bringing more than just champagne to the table this season. On the 14th, 15th, and 28th of February, and the 1st of March, their Taittinger Sonneteers will be floating through the Saloon, ready to craft personalised poems for your table. After a brief conversation to capture your poetic essence, their quills will be poised to write you a sonnet to take home. The inspiration comes from Thibaud IV de Champagne, the Count of Champagne and one of the most famous “chansonniers” (songwriters) of his time, known for his romantic poems and love ballads.
