New from the luxury maison, two limited-edition watches capture the inspiring beauty of the natural world in Canada with exquisite aventurine paintings

Canada's unique flora and fauna are captured in perfect horological form in these two new timepieces from Hermès, named "Arceau Into the Canadian Wild". Available in two limited-edition series of 24 models each, the aesthetic is influenced by one of Hermès' iconic silk scarves - the 2017 "Into the Canadian Wild" style designed by Alice Shirley - complete with a polar bear and its cub overlooking the waves on one watch, and a snowy owl flying against Aurora Borealis rays on the other.

The watch faces take the form of miniature paintings on aventurine. Each one took Hermès artisans one week to complete due to the intricate and exacting nature of the designs, from tracing the contours of the motif onto the precious quartz base to firing it in a kiln each time a new layer of paint is added.

Key details include a 38mm white gold case set with 82 diamonds, a sapphire blue alligator watch strap and a hand-crafted aventurine dial. Additionally, the glass of the watch face is crafted from anti-glare sapphire crystal, with each watch water-resistant up to three bar.

Both Arceau Into the Canadian Wild timepieces are £POA. For more information, visit hermes.com
