Established in 1849, Hancocks London is famous for its exquisite collections of jewellery, silverware, and diamonds from such prestigious names as René Lalique and Omar Ramsden. In addition to its antique offerings, the London jeweller also possesses a wide selection of bespoke diamonds and vintage jewels previously worn by the likes of Diana Dors and Elton John.
Diamond standards: Hancocks London to show at TEFAF Maastricht
11th March 2019
One of London’s oldest family jewellers will display rare jewels at the Netherlands’ leading fine art fair, including designs by Tiffany and Van Cleef & Arpels
Hancocks fans can discover the brand's unparalleled knowledge of jewellery design at European fine art fair TEFAF Maastricht later this month. The jewellery house will display 100 rare and historic items, including signed jewellery pieces from Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, alongside Tiffany and Boucheron. There will also be a remarkable 15.86-carat Ceylon sapphire ring on show, complete with elegant kite-shaped diamonds and a handmade platinum mount.
In addition, Hancocks will present one of its own creations, the Antique Festoon Necklace - approximately 154 years old.
“We are particularly proud to show this necklace at TEFAF this year,” says Guy Burton, of Hancocks London. “It is a real collector’s piece given the exceptional craftsmanship that went into making the necklace.”
The Van Cleef & Arpels amethyst and turquoise brooch is also worthy of note. Crafted in 1966, it depicts a sparkling kingfisher in flight, complete with a 'CS' inscription to indicate its bespoke commission.
