The second set of Royal Warrants granted by Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla was announced by The Palace in late December 2024. The results are in, and The Palace has revealed the latest appointments by The King and The Queen of the coveted Royal Warrants. This prestigious mark of recognition, awarded to businesses supplying goods or services to the Royal Household, has been granted to 393 companies across a wide array of industries—from fashion to food producers, from florists to fire equipment. This second set of Warrants, following the initial tranche announced in May 2024, includes businesses that held a Warrant from Queen Elizabeth II, as well as those that were trusted suppliers to The King as the former Prince of Wales (Prince Charles began granting Warrants in the 1980s).

The change in reign in 2022 necessitated that the new monarch initiates a review of the previous Warrants, hence Royal Warrant Holders were required to re-apply to be appointed.

What exactly is a Royal Warrant?

A Royal Warrant is much more than a badge of honour; it signifies a commitment to excellence, sustainability, and service, with each company rigorously assessed to meet the highest standards. It comes as no surprise that the total list of Royal Warrants Holders has been whittled down, and includes some new Warrants granted by The Queen, including some new Royal Appointments to the Queen, such as milliner Philip Treacy and hairdresser Jo Hansford.

In the latest issue of ‘Royalty in Britain’, a sister publication to SPHERE, writer Simon Brooke takes a deep dive into the rich history behind this prestigious recognition and the meticulous process businesses must undergo to earn the Royal Coat of Arms. Champagne Bollinger is also popping the cork on a major milestone. Celebrating an impressive 140 years of continuous supply to the Royal Household after His Majesty the King has renewed the House's Royal Warrant. The Bollinger story began in 1858 when London wine merchant Ludwig Mentzendorff introduced the Champagne to the British market, with Queen Victoria herself granting the first Royal Warrant in 1884. Since then, every reigning monarch has continued the honour. Etienne Bizot, Grantee and Président Directeur Général of Groupe Bollinger, states "It is extra special to receive it this year from His Majesty The King, on the 140th anniversary since it was first bestowed upon the House by Queen Victoria."

But that’s not all. Bollinger is also looking ahead with a new collaboration with The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST). In 2025, the House will launch a craft competition, inviting QEST scholars to design a bespoke piece to be displayed at the new boutique hotel being developed at Bollinger’s historic home in Aÿ. This exciting initiative not only celebrates Bollinger’s rich legacy but also champions the craftsmanship that has defined the brand for nearly two centuries. Cheers to 140 of Royal-Warranted bubbles!
