Celebrate the Year of the Snake with luxury gifts that slither into the spirit of Chinese New Year— from Dior watches to Fabergé lockets with serpentine charm, each one delivering good fortune and blessings with a little bite.

The fifteen-day celebration of Chinese New Year is here and hissing as the Year of the Snake takes reign. These festivities are more than paper dragons winding their way down Shaftesbury Avenue or cracking open cookies for a slip of paper to tell you that “an exciting opportunity lies ahead”. The key tradition of Chinese New Year is gift-giving, and a number of luxury brands have hopped on the bandwagon of launching limited editions for the occasion. In 2025, scales make a mark, golden cobras wrap around bottles and pythons slither inside watch faces. Here is SPHERE’s Guide to Luxury Gifts for Chinese New Year of the Snake.

Rémy Martin XO The Year of the Snake

Luxury Gifts Chinese New Year of the Snake - Remy Martin XO decanter in its packaging
Rémy Martin XO The Year of the Snake, designed by Huang Yuxing, £205

To mark the Year of the Snake, Rémy Martin XO has invited artist Huang Yuxing to breathe new life into its iconic decanter and box with a mesmerising, limited-edition design. The outer box is adorned with winding serpent motifs, and as you slide it open, the full Majestic Serpentine artwork is revealed in all its hypnotic, kaleidoscopic glory. This vibrant energy sets the stage for the decanter inside, which is decorated with multi-hued elements of Yuxing’s artwork—making it an instant collectible that promises to captivate for years to come. At the heart of this exclusive release is the signature Rémy Martin XO, a masterful blend of hundreds of eaux-de-vie. With its extraordinary aromatic complexity, this cognac offers tasting notes that evolve from ripe autumn fruits to rich spices, and finish with decadent hints of roasted cocoa beans, honey, and gingerbread. It’s a fusion of art, luxury, and tradition, designed to celebrate both the festive spirit of the Year of the Snake and the craftsmanship behind one of the finest cognacs in the world.

Sanderson Serpenti

Luxury Chinese New Year of the Snake - sanderson snake patterned chair in the corner of a blue room
A cushioned chair upholstered with Sanderson Serpenti fabric in the Onzen/Emerald/Azul colourway, £129 RRP

More so a gift for your living space, Sanderson Design Group have gotten in the spirit and highlighted the fabric designs of its collections that are particularly snaky. Our pick, the Serpenti fabric, a richly coloured snake damask that’s as much a work of art as it is a statement piece. Designed in the Harlequin studio, this fabric draws inspiration from the opulent treasures traded along the Silk Route with a striking contrast with one of nature's most feared creatures: the snake. Or, in the case of the Chinese Zodiac, a sign of renewal, intelligence and mystery (not fear!)

Produced with a blend of cotton velvet and emerised cotton (a texture finish that enhances smoothness), the fabric’s deeply saturated colours highlight the intricate beauty of a snake’s delicate skin, giving your home an unexpected blend of elegance and edge. Perfect for transforming any room into a bold, sophisticated sanctuary, Serpenti is the ultimate way to introduce allure into your décor beyond the 12th of February.

Cutter and Squidge Auspicious Cookie Tin

Luxury Chinese New Year of the Snake - Cutter and Squidge Auspicious Cookie Tin
Cutter and Squidge Auspicious Cookie Tin, £24.99

Although I said Chinese New Year isn’t all about cookies, it is safe to say that biscuits always find their place in a celebration. Nibbled on after guests are gone along with a cup of tea and a sigh, presented as part of an elaborate spread, or simply to gift someone who you know is in need of a good buttery biscuit. Cutter and Squidge are back with a box that will cover all bases, fulfilling fun designs without lacking flavour. For the Year of the Snake, the gift box houses a selection of traditionally auspicious animals including, of course, the slithering reptile of the moment. We’ve got green matcha fish, a vanilla lucky cat, and red raspberry-orange snakes. Plus, tangy pineapple tarts and Chinese five spice cookie sandwiches with soy caramel to round out the tin. No fortunes hiding in here, just seriously punchy flavours.
