Wimbledon runs from Monday June 27 to Sunday July 10 and if you’ve not managed to snag tickets or you’re keen to leave the comfort of your living room to watch the big tournament, here’s our specially selected London venues to view the action.
Flat Iron Square
Flat Iron Square have 8 booths with private screens available. Included in the package are two bottles of chilled prosecco and pitcher of Pimms. There’s pizza, BBQ and authentic Lebanese to feast on (not included in the package) and a fully licenced bar if you fancy pushing the boat out.
Mayfair
Pop the champagne and delve into your strawberries and cream at Brown Hart Gardens, a raised historical terrace, which sits on top of an old electricity substationa short walk from Bond Street station. ‘Stripes’ will be serving up an Amalfi Coast inspired menu, gelato and a Wimbledon Aperitivo cocktail menu in partnership with Lavazza.
Chelsea
Grab a picnic banket and bask in the Chelsea sun at Strawberries & Screen at the Duke of York Square opposite Saatchi in Chelsea. There’s a pop-up bar, a fine foods market and complimentary tennis coaches for your budding tennis star to practice their back-hand with. Groups of up to six can pre-book VIP deckchairs available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kings Cross
As part of their ‘Screen on the Canal’ season, Kings Cross is showing Wimbedon matches by the waterside. There’s plenty of eateries and drinkeries nearby if you’re feeling peckish and if the sun gets too hot, you can always pop to one of the many shops and boutiques nearby to grab a fetching hat.
Hackney
Boasting 7 big screen, ‘The Pub on the Park’ at the very edge of London Fields is the ideal East London venue to watch the rackets swing. Sharing platters, BBQ and awesome nachos are available to fill your belly and plethora of chilled liquid refreshment is just an eye-catch from the bartender away.
